Which Spearhead box should I buy?

A Spearhead is a small, pre-built army box for Age of Sigmar — Games Workshop's fast, beginner-friendly format. Each box is one player's complete Spearhead army: every miniature for that faction's force, ready to build. The rules for it, including its warscrolls (the cards that tell you what a unit can do), are a free download. You'll need one box per player.

The hard part isn't the hobby — it's picking your first box. Here's how I'd think about it.

Ask yourself these three questions first

1. Do you want to be in the enemy's face, or make them come to you? Some factions are built around aggressive charges and melee brawling. Others want to sit back, shoot, or use magic from a distance.
2. Do you like a small number of tough models, or a swarm of cheaper ones? This changes how a game feels to play far more than any rule does.
3. Does the models' look matter to you? Be honest — you're going to be staring at these while you paint them for hours. Pick something you actually want to look at.

How I'll lay out each box

Every box comparison on this page will cover, in the same format so they're easy to compare:

• What's actually in the box — number of models, unit types, and a photo breakdown of the sprues
• Playstyle in plain terms — "fast and aggressive," "slow and tough," "shooty and cautious," with no competitive jargon or tournament statistics
• Beginner-friendliness — how fiddly the models are to assemble, and how forgiving the rules are to learn on

What I'd say if you're still stuck

If you've read the above and still can't decide: pick the one whose models you'd be proudest to have on your shelf half-finished. You're far more likely to finish painting an army you're excited about, and finishing your first army matters more than optimising your first choice.
